The Georgia Department of Education provides the Library Media Program Self-Evaluation Rubric as an instrument to help Georgia Public Schools evaluate their school library media program. Below are some of the target indicators from the rubric:
- Flexible Scheduling: Flexible scheduling and library media staff are available throughout the day to assist teachers and students regardless of ability or disability.
- Collaborative Planning: Collaborative planning includes both the library media specialist and teachers to ensure us of library media center resources that support on-going classroom instruction and implementation of state curriculum standards.
- Print and Non-Print/Technology Resources: Print and non-print resources and access to online information are basic to a library media program. Multiple computers are available for student access to online resources that enhance instruction.
